Kelly and Tim’s proposal story at Immerse in the Yarra Valley

Just imagine a romantic autumn weekend getaway in the Yarra Valley. The rolling hills and the landscape full of vines and filled with the autumn colours, the air is cool, and you're ready to pop the question. This was Tim's plan for Kelly. They checked in at Immerse, a lovely Yarra Valley winery, excited for a day of wine tasting and relaxation.

After a fun afternoon, Tim suggested a walk through the vineyards. Surrounded by the golden leaves, he found a quiet spot among the vines. With a deep breath, Tim got down on one knee and proposed. Kelly's eyes widened with surprise and joy. She hugged him tightly, tears of happiness streaming down her face. Little did Kelly now that I was among the vines looking like a creep, but I captured every special moment. The rest of the afternoon was spent together celebrating this amazing moment!

The Immerse property is 49 acres

  • What options do I have in terms of locations for the ceremony at Immerse in the Yarra Valley?

The Immerse property has a number of options when it comes to possible spaces for your wedding ceremony. The first location to consider for your ceremony is the Garden Chapel. This option is great for the warmer months as it is outdoors, and although it has a roof it’s not a closed up building. Another great option is to have your wedding ceremony in the grounds of the property. This option looks amazing, but keep in mind those guests with limited mobility as it can get a bit hard for them to access the area. Finally another great option is the chapel. Even if you are not having a religious ceremony, this is a great option as it’s weather proof.

  • Does Immerse in the Yarra Valley have a rainy day backup location for the ceremony?

Yes! definitely the chapel is a great option, even if you are not having a religious ceremony, and also the garden Chapel can be another option depending on the amount of rain.

  • How many rooms are there available for guests and family?

Unlike other wedding venues, Immerse has the option for a number of guests to stay overnight. This is a great option for the immediate family. Immerse has 20 rooms to accomodate guests, but you will have to double-check when booking your date if the rooms are available as they are also open to members of the public.

  • What is the most popular wine served at Immerse?

Immerse in the Yarra Valley is a micro winery. They produce a limited number of bottles that are available for tasting at the cellar door. The most popular wine is the 2018 Pinot noir.

When it comes to locking in your wedding venue, the earlier the better. The months of spring and autumn are some of the most popular. Aim to lock in your wedding venue around 12 months before your date or even 18 months. Immerse also offers weekday options, that can be more affordable and flexible.

  • Are the vines at Immerse covered with net during the year?

This is a great question to ask any wedding venue that is also a winery: nothing worse than realizing the day before your wedding day that the vines are covered, and the fields now look like ghosts rather than lushing greens. Immerse doesn’t use nets.

Immerse is a venue that has an established restaurant, so there is no need for outside catering. The only option of outside catering allowed would be Galato carts.

  • Is there enough room down the aisle for both of my parents to walk me?

Depending on your dress, it can be a bit hard to fit with both of your parents side by side.
