Collingwood wedding photographer | How to write your vows

I know… I know… you are probably just like me leaving your wedding vows on the too hard basket or the non urgent pile list of things you need to get done for your wedding day. Today is the day when we will get them OFF your TO DO List! Here are some questions and tips on how to write them and get that done and dusted!

How to write your vows? A guide to get you started

First and foremost the most important thing to keep in mind is the why of this day. We can easily get distracted with styling the event and loose perspective on what this day means: it should be a celebration of this next step in your life and your commitment to go on this road together. Here is a lit of things to think about or questions to answer that will help you to write your vows:

  • How did you feel when you first met?

  • What made you fall in love? Was there a situation or a moment when you thought : “ This is it! I want to take this relationship to the next level”

  • Why did you decided to get married?

  • Have you gone through some hard times together?

  • Have you supported each other through a tough situation?

  • What would you like to accomplish together?

  • What do you most respect in your partner or what is a trait that makes you proud of them?

  • How has your life changed since you met?

  • What do you miss most of your partner when you are apart?

  • Add a sprinkle of promises or something you promise to stick to,

The vows are promises that you make to each other, some can be serious and formal and other promises can be lighthearted and funny. Just remember to choose something that reflects your relationship and not just a template from the internet.

I hope that this helps you to knock off this item of your TO DO LIST . If you still haven’t booked your photographer then drop me a line!!
