Mornington wedding photographer | Wedding Timeline series - The day before your wedding day, how to prepare

Hopefully at this stage in your planning you are starting to see everything coming together. You are probably wondering if you have left anything in your to do list, but it’s time to just let go. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you relax and prepare for your wedding day.

  1. Finish any planning or last minute to do item on your list by around 3pm and make sure that you take an afternoon walk or run in a peaceful place like the beach or your local park. Even if you feel like you don’t have time for that, just take 10 minutes to get out and clear your head.

  2. Consider taking a warm bath with calming music and calming essential oils. Here are some of my favourite blends to fight anxiety and stress:

    1. Blend #1:

      • 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

      • 2 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil

      • 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil

    2. Blend #2:

      • 3 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil

      • 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

    3. Blend #3:

      • 2 drops Roman Chamomile Essential

      • 2 drops Petitgrain Essential oil

      • 1 drop Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil

  3. Keep a perspective on the event: when things don’t go how you planned them just keep thinking why you are doing this and remember that this is a commitment ceremony and above all a celebration of your union.

  4. Take time off to unplug and consider visiting a floatation tank therapy. Flotation Therapy will allow you to clear your mind.

  5. Let go of perfection, always keep in mind that you have found your soulmate and how happy this person makes you feel. If you feel the anxiety and stress starting to creep up on you then close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing, appreciate the love and connection between you and your partner.

Make sure that in your agenda you leave yourself enough time to wind down and reconnect with yourself to be able to be in the best state of mind to enjoy a memorable day.
